Fruikwan Dion Rashard Stewart,
RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police on Thursday arrested the suspect they had sought in the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy.

Police had been looking for Fruikwan Dion Rashard Stewart, 18, since the shooting at the city-owned Walnut Terrace apartment complex, in the 1000 block of Walnut Street, just after 7 p.m. Friday.

The boy suffered a gunshot shot to the head and died in the hospital.

Police charged Stewart with one count of involuntary manslaughter and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

Investigators said Eboni Dominique Mitchell, 18, of Garner, helped Stewart escape from police. She was charged with being an accessory after the fact to involuntary manslaughter and was being held at the Wake County Jail.

Stewart was on probation for a November 2006 misdemeanor breaking-and-entering, according to state Department of Correction records. He has also been convicted on drug and on felony breaking-and-entering charges and served a little more than three months in 2007 for a probation violation.
