Suspect in Halifax County Shooting Out on Bond

Justin “Toot-Too” Harvey, 19, faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

HALIFAX, N.C. — A Roanoke Rapids man accused of shooting a teen near the Five Points area of Halifax County on Wednesday is out on bond.

Justin “Toot-Too” Harvey, 19, was released Friday after being held on a $50,000 bond.

Harvey, who surrendered late Wednesday, faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

The alleged victim, a 15-year-old boy, was taken to Halifax Regional Medical Center, then airlifted to another hospital for treatment. His condition was not known on Saturday.

Police have not released a motive for the shooting.

Harvey’s next court date is April 16.
