FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police on Tuesday arrested a man wanted in connection with a hit-and-run accident last month that killed a 43-year-old pedestrian.

Detectives identified Daniel Eugene Hall Jr., 18, of the 7800 block of Cedar Creek Road, as the driver in the July 29 accident that killed Dwight Donald Fredricks.

Authorities said Fredricks was taking his morning walk about 5:30 a.m. when he was struck and killed by a white Nissan sedan on Cedar Creek Road.

Detectives on Tuesday secured warrants charging Hall with felony hit-and-run. The suspect turned himself in the same day.

He was released from the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
