— A Durham man wanted in a fatal drive-by shooting on the Durham Freeway in March surrendered to police Monday.

Demario Eugene Carr, 26, of Davinci Street, was shot in the head while riding in a northbound car on N.C. Highway 147 near North Roxboro Street on March 19. Police said another vehicle pulled alongside the car, and someone in the second vehicle opened fire.

The driver of the vehicle Carr was in then drove to Durham police headquarters, and an ambulance took Carr to Duke University Hospital, where he died two days later.

Terry Percell Green, 22, of 1835 Cheek Road, is charged with murder in the case.

57% of all inmates in NC prisons are black. When will the black community pull together and truly make a difference?

Do you really think it's about the black community only that the numbers of blacks prisoned are so uneven? You do, but do some research that shows the rate at which blacks are sent to prison in comparison to whites. Not only sent to prison, but look at the time sentenced. This crime is no question he should be in jail, but you gave an overall number, so please look at those comparisons overall.

Don't want to see this guy back out on the street shooting someone else in fifteen years? Quit whining and do something about it. Our justice system isn't likely to improve, or to actually rehabilitate anyone. Check out Prison Fellowship Ministries (or some of the other prison ministry organizations). Make a donation and help get lost souls like this one back on the right track.

"You people are something else! My prayers go out to the family for their loss!

You all judge these guys and don't know a thing about them! All you all ever do is make assumptions! Really? You all can't be serious! How do you all know if they have no education? How do you all know if they have kids, or NOT? How do you all know what type of upbringing they have? Are you ALL either of their parents? Get a grip!"

Me thinks tho doth protest too much....Mrs. Green?

You all need to stop judging and take a look in your own backyards!!!!! ~~~people who live in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones!~~~

There are so many of these cases. Difficult problem -- I can only assume he and the victim were both from underpriveledged households. And by the general graduation and school statistics I have a 70% chance of my assumption being correct. For anyone who'd like to defend their position against mine, all I have to ask is, ok to let him live with your family then?

This guy is a dangerous criminal, its too bad we seem to never run out of them.

"pity that these young boys are killing each other off because they dont have a chance in hell of obtaining a good education..."

Why not? Is he from another country where they don't have public schools? Everyone here in the USA has the ability to obtain a good education at the tax payers expense.

"The sad part is he'll not get death. Just a long prison sentence and will be out in less than 15 years to kill again."

Chances are this isn't the first person that he has killed. He'll be out again in plenty of time to kill again too.

pity that these young boys are killing each other off because they dont have a chance in hell of obtaining a good education, good upbringing and a good head on their shoulders to know the difference.... Sad for the family who lost a son via death, and sad for the family who lost a son via stupidity!
