I too am curious about why the headline says Durham, but the other articles about shootings in Raleigh don't include Raleigh in the headline. Who writes the headlines and why isn't the editor fair when checking things before they post/print?

Now that I look, there are 2 stories above this one about Raleigh crime that do not have Raleigh in the title.

Isn't it interesting that this story includes "Durham" in the title, but the story about a shooting in Raleigh does not say "Raleigh" in the title. Double-standard.

I agree with Andrew. Mayberry no longer exist so no community or neighborhood is crime free. But Durham does take a beating in these forums especially when a crime is involved. Now to the story, hope this wasnt another case of senseless violence. I am glad the suspect surrendered. If he is in fact guilty of this, I hope justice will be served.

As a proud Durham citizen, I have resisted the temptation of responding to those who obviously feel better about themselves by finding fault with Durham...particularly those purported to be Raleigh or Wake Co residents. Durham is improving itself. I've lived here for 10 years and witness it every day. We have problems, yes. Do most Durham members of this forum feel compelled to belittle others in surrounding communities....I don't see it. Right now on WRAL there is a story called "Man Found in Crashed Car Had Been Shot" This is a story about a Raleigh crime. The most I can say is that this is tragic, and this man's family must be devastated. You don't hear me make generalizations and condescending comments about this incident....How about if folks on this forum consider looking inward at your own community and its problems, before lashing out and making judgments about others?
