— Police on Tuesday identified a man wanted in connection with smash-and-grab burglaries at two Clayton banks this month.

The Clayton Police Department has issued warrants charging Tyrone Michael Brinkley, 43, of 471 Slate Top Road in Clayton, with two counts of felony breaking and entering and one count each of larceny and attempted larceny.

The doors of the KS Bank at 11591 U.S. Highway 70 Business and the Wells Fargo bank at 1405 Executive Drive were smashed in during the overnight hours of Feb. 16-17, police said. Security videos showed a man entering the two banks through the shattered doors and rummaging around for whatever could be stolen quickly.

Several hundred dollars in rolled coins was taken from the KS Bank, police said.

Brinkley, who also goes by the name Franklin Bond, also is wanted by the Johnston County Sheriff's Office on burglary and larceny charges, police said.

He recently moved from Durham to Johnston County and is known to frequent locations in Durham, police said. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Clayton Police Department at 919-553-4611 or 911.

Good job CPD. Keep it up. Maybe one day some of these trifling people will learn to work for a living instead of stealing from others.

Yes Clayton is a wonderful community. Sadly, there is a lot of urban trouble that comes over from Smithfield and Fuquay. I wish that kind of stuff would just stay in Durham & Fayetteville...

    Good job Clayton PD!
