Suspect charged after fatal Rocky Mount wreck

Police said a truck driven by Brian Keith Moss illegally passed a vehicle in the turning lane and struck another car. The driver in that vehicle, 21-year-old Kevin Orozco, was killed.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A 30-year-old man faces charges including aggravated felony death by motor vehicle, DWI and felony hit and run after a wreck in the 1100 block of Goldrock Road in Rocky Mount Saturday night.

Police said a truck driven by Brian Keith Moss illegally passed a vehicle in the turning lane and struck another car. The driver in that vehicle, 21-year-old Kevin Orozco, was killed.

Authorities said Moss fled the scene in his vehicle but was later located by the Nash County Sheriff's Office at Highway 48 and Red Oak Battleboro Road where he had wrecked his vehicle.

Moss is also charged with unsafe passing, failure to reduce speed, driving while license revoked and possession of marijuana.

He was being held under a $104,000 bond in the Nash County jail on Monday.
