— Warren Riley Ray Jr., 26, was in the Wake County jail Tuesday, two days after he ran from police near the intersection of Hilltop Needmore and Eden Grove roads in Fuquay-Varina.

Officers handcuffed Ray Sunday morning just before 8 a.m. while they investigated a series of reported break-ins, but he ran from them and escaped.

He was apprehended at about 5 a.m. Monday, according to the Wake County Sheriff's Office. He was charged with a probation violation, resisting arrest and larceny. He was placed in the Wake County jail under a $12,500 bond.

Ray was sentenced to probation for a 2008 conviction for driving while impaired and a 2004 conviction for aiding and abetting common-law robbery, according state Department of Correction records.

Investigators said that Ray is not considered violent but has a history of probation violations. The DOC has listed him as an absconder from probation supervision.

Just wondering if the guy was still wearing the handcuffs? And were the handcuffs behind his back? If so, how did the dude use the bathroom the last 24 hours? A little hard to get your pants down or unzipped. I take that back. Probably was wearing the baggy pants that were basically already down.
