Bullock, 34, was reported missing on June 18, and his body found June 26 in a quarry on Glendon Carthage Road, about 6 miles west of Sanford.
He was last seen on June 13, and his black Honda Accord was found at a recreation area on N.C. Highway 42 at Deep River in Lee County on the same day that he was reported missing.
Authorities have not commented on a motive for the crime.
Harvel was being held in the Moore County jail without bond for the murder charge and under a $50,000 bond for the firearms charges.
