Suspect arrested after man shot in north Raleigh

— Raleigh police said a 25-year-old man was injured in a shooting in the 4900 block of Coolridge Court around 10 a.m. Monday.

Al Kareem Parrish was driven by private vehicle to Duke-Raleigh Hospital and then transferred to WakeMed by ambulance.

Police said Parrish was shot in the abdomen and hand in a parking lot near his home. They said they don't believe the shooting was random violence.

Andrew Peart, 38, was arrested around 6:15 p.m. Monday and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

No other information was released.

    Drugs are soold in every area. Dont think your nice brick house with a swing in the yard doesnt have a dope dealer close by. You're fooling yourself.

    Great point and true jjordan231179. What people don't see is the difference in dope dealers who are smart enough to not going around shooting the neighborhood all to pieces. Cops know that drugs are everywhere. They know where the violence and drugs come together as well.

    You know it's a drug market, I know it's a drug market. Everyone knows it's a drug market but the Raleigh PD. The only rational solution? Why, legalize drugs, that's what! If'n you can't beat'em, join'em!
