— The PurpleStride Raleigh-Durham walk Saturday raised more than $130,000 for research and treatment of pancreatic cancer with a 5K walk/run on North Carolina State University's Centennial Campus.

Survivors joined supporters who turned out in purple, the signature color of pancreatic cancer awareness.

Thank you to all who participated. I personally have lost several family members in the last few years to pancreatic cancer and it is a horrible, painful disease to endure with very, very few survivors.
