Posted February 24
It pays to lose teeth if you’re a kid.
The Tooth Fairy’s payouts are going up. According to Delta Dental’s annual Tooth Fairy survey, the average payout for a lost tooth is $4.62.
That number is at an all-time high and marks at 75 percent increase over 2015.
Tooth Fairy payouts are also a good indicator of the economy, as the increase closely follows the S&P 500.
Cash payouts for a first lost tooth are also up about 10 percent.
