Super Doubles brag thread for Harris Teeter AND Lowes Foods!

Posted October 31, 2012

Here's the place to share your great Super Doubles register totals, funny stories and coupon disasters at Harris Teeter AND Lowes Foods this week! Let's hear it - how did you do?  Please be sure to specify at which store you found the deal or had an issue (Lowes Foods or Harris Teeter).  I can't wait to hear about all the deals you are going to get!

May your shopping be filled with only treats and no tricks!

I finally made it to Lowes Foods at 3:00 pm Wednesday afternoon. Many of the great deals were gone including Smart Balance Milk.  You can see the items I bought in the picture above.

Here are the stats from my mini shop:

Total before sales and coupons: $34.90

Total saved: $32.05

Total paid: $2.85

% saved: 92%

Here's what I bought:

4 Pillsbury crescent rolls $1 each - .50/2 printable coupon from

4 Philly pumpkin cream cheese $1.99 - .50 coupons = .99 each (HT didn't have it in their stores last week when it was only .69 cents after coupon and my kids love this flavor!)

2 Kraft Homestyle mac and cheese $2.59 - $1.50 printable from (if you are a member and were offered this coupon) = FREE

2 Campbell's Skillet sauces, $2 - $1 coupon from paper = FREE

2 Dreamfields pasta, $1.50 - .55/1 coupons from paper = .40 each

1 Louis Kemp seafood sticks, $2 - $1 seafood wine tag that doubled = FREE

1 Smart Balance butter. $2.25 - .50 coupon from paper = $1.25

In addition to the manufacturer coupons, I used a $2 Catalina coupon from buying Morningstar veggie products last week and a gift card (that was a gift) with $2.95 left on it to help bring the total down.

I will be driving right by a Harris Teeter on the way to an appointment on Thursday so I'll be doing a little shopping on my way home.

Semicolons, after your post about the dog treats, I started digging for more info. I've been buying and feeding my German Shepard Milo's Kitchen treats for several months now, and found them on the list of ones to be avoided. Imagine my horror when I discovered that they 'may' cause kidney problems in pets who consume them. Thing is, our cat snatched them a few times before the dog could get them and we never connected our subsequent visits to the vet with it. She had terrible kidney levels, and the vet told us that she likely had advanced kidney disease or kidney cancer. They expected her to pass within the week...but after changing her to a high protein, prescription food, she has rebounded! (we were out of Milo's! ) The vet plans to run new liver tests on her next week but is also disgusted with what is in 'treats' for pets these days!
