Sunshine could peek through clouds Saturday afternoon
Sunshine could peek through the clouds in central North Carolina Saturday afternoon as an upper-level disturbance clears the area.

The area avoided any wintry precipitation Saturday morning thanks to dry air near the ground and temperatures just above freezing.
Skies will clear overnight, allowing temperatures to fall into the mid-30s.
Spring-like air will rush back into the area on Sunday ahead of an approaching cold front, sending afternoon highs into the mid-60s.
As the front arrives in the Triangle Monday, temperatures will plummet during the afternoon.
"The high temperature Monday could be at 9 or 10 a.m.," Moss said. "As rain falls during the day, temperatures will be crashing – we'll dip through the 40s and into the 30s during the afternoon. The northern half of the viewing area could end up seeing some mixed wintry precipitation by the evening commute."
Skies will clear Tuesday and Wednesday, but the cold air will stay put as highs will only reach the mid-40s.
