Suicide causes Raleigh apartment fire; woman dead

— Firefighters say a blaze that injured one person and destroyed 12 apartments in Raleigh was started when someone commited suicide.

Authorities said the fire started around 7:15 p.m. Friday at the Trails of North Hills apartments, in the 1900 block of Generation Drive.

When firefighters arrived, they found a woman with significant burns on a patio. Investigators said the woman had jumped to safety. 

She was taken to a local hospital, where she died as a result of her injuries. Her death was ruled a suicide, police said.

No other injuries were reported, but 24 people were displaced by the fire.

    Hope the people had renter's insurance. If the dead woman had an estate Hope it goes to the families that were displaced because of her actions.
