Study: Smoking bans not bad for business

A study of smoking bans in nine states finds the laws haven't had the predicted negative impact on sales at restaurants.

The study, conducted by RTI International and distributed by the Centers for Disease Control Foundation, agrees with previous investigations of the topic.

Smoking bans in the states studied, which included North Carolina, "had no significant effect on restaurant or bar employment or revenues," the CDC reported.

    I find I go out more often knowing that a new place or infrequently visited place will not be full of smoke.
