Students Hit in Pellet Gun Attack

Posted May 31, 2007

— For the second time in two days, a pellet gun was fired outside a Garner school.

A young man in a car shot at students outside North Garner Middle School Thursday morning, police said. Three students were hit in the legs, but they didn't suffer serious injuries, police said.

The culprit fled in a car that was parked nearby, and outdoor activities were curtailed at the school.

On Wednesday, a young man leaned out a window and shot at a group of parents outside Vandora Springs Elementary School.

Both cases remain under investigation, and a red compact car is being sought in connection with both incidents.

someone's gonna see him with his gun hanging out and shoot him thinking it's a real gun. Why isn't this person in work or school during these times?? Loser that's why.

Actually, Anna... VSE has the RTL (Ready to Learn) and has children as young as 1 who attend (albeit with parents). My daughter loves it (she's 2).

I promise if he aims that weapon at any LEO they won't wait to find out if it is a pellet gun or not. That'll be the last time he does anything stupid like that.

It sounds like this person(s) is trying to make a scene. An elementary school and middle school? I'm sure they're young but if an officer is around when someone is aiming any kind of weapon around those younsters they should be "taken out".
I know police know a better way but these stoies are infuriating.

Another example of gun control working beautifully. It is only one step from firing a pellet gun into a crowd of children to firing a real gun into a crowd of children. And of course LAW ABIDING citizens can't carry weapons to defend themselves in these situations.

I hope this boy (not a real man) gets caught. He has hit an all time low, shooting a pellet gun at children. What is this person thinking??????? He should be charged with assault and terrorist intentions (he is terrorizing schools) as well as fire arms charges. As a parent, it would satisfy me to this person locked up for a very long time. Who needs that in society????????

Hopefully he tries to shoot an adult who has a real gun to shoot back......

I can't help but wonder what someone must be thinking in order to do such a thing. My child attends one of these schools, and I was scared for him when I heard about the incident on the news; I'm grateful that the school has been very good about keeping parents informed, calling anytime there has been new information.

The sad thing about this is the way that it has affected the students of the school; this week and the next were scheduled to be "outdoor" days, and the kids were supposed to have fun activities to round out the school year.

It's unfortunate that any idiot would pull something like this in a pitiful cry for attention. I know that no one has been seriously hurt by the shootings, but that's not the point; this person's purpose is to inspire fear in parents and schoolchildren - and children as young as three attend VSE.

I hope they are found, and I believe they probably will be, mainly through their own reckless repetition of stupid behavior.
