Student charged with setting off fireworks at Millbrook High

Ultare D. Banks, 18, of 5009-B4 N. New Hope Road in Raleigh, is charged with having a weapon on school property and possessing a pyrotechnic without a permit, according to an arrest warrant.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Millbrook High School student has been accused of setting off fireworks in the school bus parking lot, according to Raleigh police.

Ultare D. Banks, 18, of 5009-B4 N. New Hope Road in Raleigh, was charged with having a weapon on school property and possessing a pyrotechnic without a permit, according to an arrest warrant.

Authorities said Banks set off the fireworks on Wednesday as students were leaving school. No one was injured.

Banks was taken into custody on Thursday. His bond was set at $500.
