String of vehicle break-ins reported in Rocky Mount

Rocky Mount police warned residents to be careful after seven vehicle break-ins were reported in the northern part of the city early Wednesday.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Rocky Mount police warned residents to be careful after seven vehicle break-ins were reported in the northern part of the city early Wednesday.

The vehicle break-ins occurred in a neighborhood off Fenner Road ans were reported between  7:35 a.m. and 3:12 p.m., police said. In two cases, a large rock was found on the passenger seat.

Whoever broke into the vehicles stole items including cash, credit cards, knives, ammunition, checkbooks, purses, MP3 players, iPods and laptops.

No arrests have been made.
