Village Storytellers to perform at Pullen Park on June 18

I've written a lot about outdoor music and movies this spring and summer season. How about stories?

Pullen Park will host Stories in the Park from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday. The Village Storytellers will weave some incredible and family-friendly tales in the outdoor theater area by the Great Oak near the park entrance. The stories are best for all ages, but, considering the location, Ken Grant, part of the Village Storytellers, tells me that they'll be focusing on younger children at this event.
The Village Storytellers is a group of amateur and professional storytellers who meet on the first Tuesday of each month at Sertoma Art Center at Shelley Lake Park. Front Porch Stories is a quarterly event where they perform at Sertoma, but they've moved things to Pullen Park this Saturday.

This should be a lot of fun and might make for a unique Father's Day weekend outing when paired with a picnic and some rides on the carousel and kiddie train. The stories cost only, as the website says, "one smile."
