Zebulon police look for shooting suspect

The suspect was identified as 34-year-old Mark Christopher Ray. He is 5-foot-9 and weights 170 pounds.

Police are looking for the suspect in a Friday evening shooting.

Lorenzo Hinton, 29, of 102 N. State St. in Raleigh, was shot in the face with a handgun at 200 E. Barbee Ave. in Zebulon around 6 p.m. He was listed in fair condition at WakeMed in Raleigh on Sunday morning.

Police named Mark Christopher Ray, 34, as a suspect. He has unknown addresses in both Zebulon and Raleigh.

Investigators believe that the shooting stemmed from a fight over a mutual female acquiatance.

Ray is described as a black man, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. He has tattoos of bulldogs on both arms.

Police warned that Ray is considered armed and dangerous. He has previously been charged with attempted murder.
