Durham police were searching for clues early Saturday in the fatal stabbing death of a woman found Friday evening at a home in south Durham.

Officers responding to the home, at 2917 Cedarwood Drive, at about 6:15 p.m. found the woman dead inside. Durham police have not released the woman's name, but neighbors said two adults live at the home.

"It's emotional. We pray for the family, first and foremost," Terri Rowland said. "We don't know what's going on, but just the sight of police cars and an ambulance, it's very emotional."

No other information about the stabbing has been released, and Durham police on Friday asked for the public's help to learn more about the crime.

Anyone with information about the incident should call Durham police at 919-56-4440 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
