Neighbors in Wake Forest were without water service in their homes on Tuesday morning as crews from Raleigh worked to repair a water main break.

The 12-inch water main break occurred in the 700 block of Durham Road, according to a news release from the city. Several residents on Durham Road, along with neighbors on Magnolia Forest Court, Oakwood Estates, Hope Street and Richland Drive, are without water.

The eastbound lane of Durham Road was closed from Capital Boulevard to Tyler Run Drive until about 5 p.m. while crews repaired the break.

Water service was restored Tuesday evening.
