Vietnamese children fascinated by our skin color

We often noticed kids and some young adults staring at us, but not in a mean way. I would say it was out of fascination of our skin color.

Yes, this is indeed a trip of a lifetime. The people in the south are friendlier, but I suspect that is because the North Vietnamese have had limited contact with westerners for so long. (We did not lift the embargo against them until 1997.)

We often noticed kids and some young adults staring at us, but not in a mean way. I would say it was out of fascination of our skin color. Leonard, Paul and I are all African-Americans, and there aren't very many blacks in the country.

I suggested to them jokingly that it's because of American movies that they were all particularly struck by me ... I look like Denzel Washington!
