Grandfather found safe in Virginia after going missing near Fort Bragg

A grandfather that went missing near Fort Bragg was found safe by police in Chester, Virginia, Saturday afternoon.

The family posted a message on their social media page thanking everyone for their help and support.

A Silver Alert was issued for Thomas Edgar Sisk, age 80, who is believed to be suffering from Alzheimer's or dementia. The alert was canceled on Saturday after he was found.

"Any of my friends in Fayetteville, this is an emergency," wrote a family member in a Facebook post that's been shared nearly 4,000 times in only 12 hours. "My grandfather has been missing ... and my family has been driving all over Fayetteville trying to find him."
