Two killed in Morrisville train-car crash
Authorities said two people were killed when a train collided with a car at Morrisville Carpenter Road and NC Highway 54 in Morrisville Saturday evening.
William L. Flint, 86, and Dorothy L. Flint, 83, of Cary were both killed when a west-bound freight train collided with their car at about 8 p.m. Saturday.
Officials said preliminary reports suggest that the driver took a wrong turn and was unable to move the vehicle once it was on the track. Investigators said the arms at the intersection were functioning properly.
