Tanker carrying water overturns, closing I-95 in Rocky Mount

A tanker truck carrying water overturned Monday on Interstate 95, closing all northbound lanes and causing delays.

The crash was reported before 11:30 a.m. near Exit 132 for West Mount Drive near Rocky Mount.

Nash County Sheriff Keith Stone said the truck driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Sky 5 flew over the scene at 12:15 p.m., showing a mess beside the roadway.

At 12:15 p.m., one northbound lane reopened, but there were still delays, and traffic was moving slowly around the crash.
