Summer in North Carolina: Festivals, concerts and fun

Our NC festival guide features more than 100 events from the mountains to the coast and plenty right here in the Triangle. Some of our summer favorites include the NC Blueberry Festival (June 17-18), That Music Fest (June 24-25), Festival for the Eno (July 2 and July 4) and the Beer, Bourbon and BBQ Festival (Aug. 5-6).

We have also highlighted some of the biggest concerts at the Triangle's most popular music venues this summer in North Carolina. The summer kicks off with The Doobie Brothers on June 11 and Backstreet Boys on June 25.

Our database of public pools can help you find a pool near you. Most pools offer day passes that can be purchased at the entrance or memberships to join for the entire summer.

Other ways to cool down in summer in North Carolina: see a movie or got to a museum. Here's a list of other ideas, from water balloon fights to patio dining to upgrading your outdoor space.

Don't forget about heat safety! Take care of pets in the hottest months of the year by allowing them access to shade and water while outdoors and keeping their paws off sizzling streets during long walks.
