Separate shootings leave two dead in Fayetteville

One man was shot to death late Wednesday and a second was killed early Thursday in an unrelated shooting, Fayetteville police said.

Raheem Altrick Williams, 29, was found on Boxwood Lane with several gunshot wounds at about 11 p.m. Wednesday, police said. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital, where he died.

At about 5:30 a.m. Thursday, Laparis Lamon Whitfield, 34, and another man were shot at 5242 Murchison Road. Whitfield died, and the second man suffered a non-life-threatening wound, police said.

Police didn't release other details of either shooting, such as possible motives or suspects.
