Second Man Charged in Fayetteville Shooting

Authorities have arrested a second man in connection with a fatal shooting in Fayetteville.

Keonte Devon Purcell, 17, of Raeford, has been charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, discharging a weapon into occupied property and attempted first-degree murder.

Police said Jourdhan Phillips, 18, was shot when a vehicle pulled alongside the car in which he was riding near the intersection of Morganton Road and Hearthstone Drive on May 6. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where he later died.

Another man, Terrance McLaughlin, 20, was arrested May 16 and charged with accessory after the fact.
