Police were searching Tuesday for a man suspected of robbing a Roxboro bank.

A man entered the BB&T branch at 595 N. Madison Blvd. just past 11 a.m. and handed the teller a note demanding money, Roxboro police said. A weapon was not displayed during the robbery.

After the robbery, the man ran into a wooded area on the 500 block of North Main Street. A search that included canines was called off at around 2 p.m.

The suspect is described as a black male, 40 to 50-years-old, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 230-250 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark pants, a green long-sleeved shirt and a Mountain Dew baseball cap.
