Scooby Dooby doo!

Scooby-Doo will make a stop at Northgate Mall in Durham on Sunday. This is another in what's become a sort of series of events that feature live performances and a very inexpensive movie or collection of cartoons at Northgate's theater. (What a great idea!)

From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, Scooby-Doo will be roaming the mall and visiting different stores. Families can search for him to get a photo with the canine sleuth.

The afternoon also includes an appearance from the High Strung Petting Zoo from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The group will bring an assortment of instruments that kids can touch and play. It's capped with a performance by Durham's Faith Baptist Church Children's Choir at 4 p.m.

All of these events are free and open to the public.

Also, as part of the weekend's festivities, Stadium 10 Theaters at Northgate Mall will screen some special Scooby-Doo cartoons. Tickets are $1 and will benefit the Pretty in Pink Breast Cancer Foundation. For times, check with the theater.

(Update: The cartoons will be shown at 1 p.m., Saturday, and 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., Sunday).

The mall and theater are found at 1058 West Club Blvd., Durham.
