Coding has become a very popular skill for children of all ages to learn. Add in the idea of creating your own robotics, and you have a fun program to engage your child.

I recently came across a relatively new center in the Triangle area that offers both - Zebra Robotics. They have locations in Cary, RTP, Holly Springs and north Raleigh. I visited the north Raleigh location and was impressed to see some of the cool creations kids had made just that day.

I wanted to know more about their program, so I reached out to Lauren Schramm, the franchise development manager for Zebra Robotics.

Tell us about your business.

Zebra also believes competitions are a great motivator for learning. Every year, Zebra Robotics students train to compete in multiple international robotics and coding competitions such as the First Lego League, World Robotics Olympiad, Zone 01, VEX Robotics Competition, and the Canada Computing Challenge. Their teams have won over 85 regional, provincial, and national awards in the last 9 years. Zebra hosts its own annual competition, CRoC (Coding Robotics Open Challenge) where kids from all Zebra Robotics locations can compete.

Do you offer track out or summer camps?

Zebra Robotics offers year-round track out and summer camps.

What is one of the main skills you hope to teach children?

We help students develop their critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills through our hands-on, fun curriculums that have been tailored and refined by our knowledgeable instructors. Most importantly, students learn time management, leadership, perseverance, confidence, communication, and team-building skills through their journey with us.
