Reward offered for capture of teen wanted in fatal bar shooting

Rocky Mount Crime Stoppers has offered a reward of $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of a teen accused of shooting and killing a man during a bar fight.

Royal Rakem Williams, 17, is wanted on a charge of first-degree murder in the Sept. 30 death of Ryan Craig Bobbitt, 24.

Police say that Williams shot Bobbitt with a handgun during a fight among seven to eight people at the Night Life Bar and Grill at 821 Country Club Road. Police haven't said what led to the fight.

Williams is known to frequent Nashville, N.C.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Rocky Mount police at 252-972-1411 or Crime Stoppers at 252-977-1111. Tips can also be emailed to Crime Stoppers at crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for tips that solve crimes.

Williams also faces charges of possession of a handgun, discharging a firearm in city limits, being in a nightclub as a minor and carrying a weapon into a place where alcohol is sold.

Jhimaal McKeith Lasco, 19, Kenny Maliek Bynum, 29, and Doron Terrel Alston, 28, have been arrested on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in connection with Bobbitt's death.

The night club's owner, Thomas Benson, has said that he and the property's landlord have agreed that no nightclub or bar will ever again be allowed to open at that address.
