Study: Extra hour of daylight could improve health

Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday at 2 a.m. when most Americans will gain an hour, making the commute to work a bit brighter and the ride home a bit darker.

The shift is standardized by the Department of Transportation. Daylight Saving Time has been used in some fashion since 1916, although the date has moved around.

This year, we fall back on Nov. 2. We'll spring forward again on Sunday, March 8.

Fire departments suggest changing batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and turning back the clocks Saturday before bed.

By the way, many say "daylight savings time," but that is incorrect. It's daylight saving time.
