I had a chance this morning to preview the new Sassafras All Children's Playground, which opens Saturday.

When it opens, Sassafras will be the city's biggest playground - stretching out across 3.5 acres. It's designed for inclusive play - so all children, regardless of their ability, can play side by side. That means you'll find some pieces designed for children with mobility issues and other special needs.

I'll have much more about Sassafras all week, but I thought I'd share some photos from this morning.

The playground is at Laurel Hills Park, 3808 Edwards Mill Rd., Raleigh.
