A 31-year-old man was arrested Monday in connection with the weekend death of another man.

Gavin Joseph Zacherl, of 4129-206 Lake Lynn Drive, is accused of killing Andrew Jay Tongate, 28, of the same address.

Raleigh police were dispatched to the apartment at 6:40 a.m. Saturday in response to a 911 call involving stab wounds that were said to be self-inflicted.

Tongate was taken to WakeMed, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators haven't said how the two men knew each other or given a motive for the crime.

According to a 911 call, an unidentified male said his boyfriend had been doing methamphetamines and stabbed himself in the chest.

Zacherl was being held without bond in the Wake County Detention Center Tuesday.
