The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's football program is the seventh to offer Providence Day sophomore wide receiver Gordon Sellars. The Tar Heels are the fifth in-state school to offer the pass catcher. He shared the news to his X account on Wednesday afternoon.

Sellars' first verbal offer came from UNC-Charlotte last January. Since then, he has been offered by Virginia Tech, Appalachian State, East Carolina, NC State, and Marshall.

The sophomore is listed at 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds.

Over the first part of his high school career, Sellars served as a backup behind Power 5 recruits Jordan Shipp and Channing Goodwin. In 2023, Sellars caught 22 passes for 507 yards and four touchdowns. He had two receptions for 20 yards as a freshman.

Sellars helped Providence Day to its third consecutive NCISAA Division I state championship. The Chargers defeated Rabun Gap by a score of 34-27 in the Nov. 17 title game. Providence Day finished 2023 with a 12-1 overall record.
