Private grade schools to high schools plan admission fairs

For those interested in investigating private schools, there are a couple of events coming up next month.

St. Timothy's School in Raleigh will host the ninth annual high school fair, featuring more than 60 public, private, military and boarding schools. It includes both local schools and others from around the country. 

It's 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Oct. 1, at St. Timothy's gymnasium, 4523 Six Forks Rd., Raleigh. Click here for more information.

The Triangle Independent School Consortium will host two admission fairs. They feature private schools across the Triangle. Fairs are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 5, at the Hampton Inn and Suites at Crabtree in Raleigh. The second is set for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 6, at the Hilton Garden Inn at Southpoint Mall in Durham.

If you are considering private school next year for your child, now is the time to tour the schools. I know it seems early. The current school year just started! But many will hold open houses in the coming weeks.
