A new pop-up ice cream shop will offer families sweet treats and entertainment this summer at Northgate Mall in Durham.

Beaver Bog's Ice Cream will be open now through Aug. 31 near Entrance 10 across from the Shoe Department. The shop features all-natural, organic ice cream made from milk from area farms with a variety of dips including chocolate, cherry, maple and a "choco-log" (Mekupelet chocolate from Europe), in addition to Joe Van Goh coffee, according to a press release.

The shop also will offer free children's music from area musicians and storytelling on a regular basis all summer.

The shop will kick off the summer with a grand opening event at 3 p.m., Saturday. Storyteller "Farmer Ronnie" will tell the Beaver Bog Story with sing-along songs and music. There also will be some free samples.

The shop is open during mall hours. Northgate Mall is located at 1058 West Club Boulevard, Durham.
