Police investigate Durham shooting death

Police are investigating a shooting at 503 Bruce St. that killed a 23-year-old woman on Friday.

Calls about the shooting came into police around 11 p.m.

Carrie Denise Watkins suffered a gunshot and was transported to Duke University Hospital, where she died.

Police have not released more details about the shooting and said it remained under investigation.
