Overturned tractor trailer spills cargo alongside I-95, closes lane

An overturned tractor trailer closed a lane on I-95 after spilling a massive amount of its cargo alongside the highway.

The crash happened near Mile Marker 81 near Smithfield by the James E. Harrington Freeway.

Multiple fire trucks, a paramedic and officers could be seen around the overturned truck around 8:30 a.m.

The right lane is expected to be closed until around 10 a.m.

It is not yet clear what caused the tractor trailer to overturn.
