KANNAPOLIS, NC — When you're in a nine-team conference in a spring sport, there aren't as many opportunities for nonconference games.

That means the importance of every game in the South Piedmont Conference is of the upmost importance.

On a blustery Friday, Northwest Cabarrus polished off a season sweep of county and conference foe Jay M. Robinson with a 7-2 victory.

It is the seventh straight win for Northwest Cabarrus (9-1, 7-1), which has only lost to SPC leader Lake Norman Charter by a 3-1 score in March.

Northwest Cabarrus led 3-1 at halftime on the Bulldogs (5-6, 5-5)
