Police are investigating two shootings in Rocky Mount – one of which killed a 27-month-old when bullets were fired into a house at 2805 Pelham Road Saturday night.

Rocky Mount Toddler Shot and Killed

Police are investigating two shootings in Rocky Mount – one of which killed a 27-month-old toddler Saturday night.

At 8:22 p.m., shots were fired into a house at 2805 Pelham Road, officers said. One bullet hit and killed Jamir Whitaker .

Airic Whitaker, 31, was also shot.  His condition was not available.

The second shooting happened early Sunday in the 400 block of Lexington Street. Two people were shot.

Officers would not release information on the victims' conditions or their identities in that shooting.

Police have yet to say whether or not they believe the shootings are related.
