People camp out for free Chick-fil-A

About 150 fans of Chick-fil-A camped out in the parking lot of the newest restaurant in Holly Springs in an effort to get a year’s supply of free food.

The first 100 people in line when the restaurant, at 1655 N. Main St., opens Thursday will get free food from Chick-fil-A for a year.

Some people drove from Virginia and South Carolina to attend the grand opening.

Jake Knupp, who claims he is the restaurant’s No. 1 fan, drove from Virginia to attend the opening. He said it is his 40th grand opening. His goal is to have attended 50 openings by Feb. 13, when he and his wife celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
