The Durham Performing Arts Center seats up to 2,800 people.

Two local corporate entities and one family have donated for naming rights in Durham's new Performing Arts Center (DPAC).

Durham resident and local Realtor Jim Stewart, his wife Frances Dyer, and sisters Jan Steele and Marie Foley, donated to the DPAC capital campaign in honor of their parents, John S. “Shag” and Otelia Spaulding Stewart. The box office manager’s office will be dedicated to the couple.

"We wanted something that would be a lasting tribute and there was no site that seemed more appropriate than Durham’s beautiful new performing arts center,” Stewart said.

“The destination nature of the DPAC, combined with its location in a revitalized downtown, is a fitting match for the type of lofty visions my parents had for the City of Durham."

A brushed steel sign above ticket windows will signal that Duke Energy will “power the DPAC box office” through its donation.

The West Orchestra Concessions in the DPAC will be acknowledged as a gift of KeySource Bank.

Naming opportunities as part of the DPAC capital campaign range in value from $1,000 to $200,000.
