New indecent liberties charge filed against ex-Fayetteville teacher

Police said Thursday that they have filed another charges of indecent liberties with a minor against a former Fayetteville elementary school teacher who has been accused of sexually abusing four boys.

Bradley Norman Dent, 47, of 7006 Lamure Drive, already faces charges of statutory sex offense, engaging in a sexual act with a student and taking indecent liberties with a minor.

Police said the latest charge stems from an incident alleged to have occurred between January 2008 and June 2009 while Dent was working for a local counseling center.

Dent formerly worked as a part-time counselor at Carolina Counseling Services, at 1318 Raeford Road.

At least two of the alleged victims told authorities they met Dent through the counseling center.

Dent taught in the Cumberland County Schools system for more than seven years, most recently as a fourth-grade teacher at Long Hill Elementary School. He recently resigned from the district.
