NCHSAA finalizes playoff brackets for dual-team boys tennis
The N.C. High School Athletic Association has released the finalized dual-team boys tennis state playoff brackets.
The NCHSAA released the preliminary brackets on Monday afternoon. The brackets were delayed after reporting errors from schools and conferences forced RPI rankings to be amended by MaxPreps.
The NCHSAA releases preliminary brackets in all sports to give schools a chance to check for potential reporting errors.
First round matches are scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, at the higher seed. All rounds are played at the higher seed until the state championships, which will be played on May 18 at the Burlington Tennis Center.
Here is the full schedule:
- May 1 — First Round @ higher seed
- May 6 — Second Round @ higher seed
- May 8 — Third Round @ higher seed
- May 13 — Fourth Round @ higher seed
- May 15 — Regional Championships @ higher seed
- May 18 — State Championships @ Burlington Tennis Center
This season will mark the 19th time the Burlington Tennis Center has hosted the dual-team boys tennis state championships. It first played host to the event in 2000.
The individual boys tennis regional championships will take place on Friday, May 3, and Saturday, May 4. State championships in individual boys tennis will be held on Friday, May 10, and Saturday, May 11. State championship locations for individual tennis are Cary Tennis Center (1A), Ting Park in Holly Springs (2A), the Burlington Tennis Center (3A), and Millbrook Exchange Park (4A).
The deadline for schools to report qualifiers for the individual tennis playoffs is 3 p.m. on Monday. Matchups for regionals will be released later this week.
