North Carolina State University’s football program became the fifth to make a verbal scholarship to Providence Day’s Gordon Sellars.

The Wolfpack are the fourth program in North Carolina to offer the 6-foot-3, 180-pound pass catcher from Charlotte.

The sophomore wide receiver previously reported offers from Charlotte, Virginia Tech, Appalachian State, and East Carolina.

So far in his high school career, Sellars has played under the likes of Jordan Shipp and Channing Goodwin, both of whom are Power 5 signees. In the fall, Sellars caught 22 passes for 507 yards and four touchdowns. He had two receptions for 20 yards as a freshman.

Sellars helped Providence Day to its third consecutive NCISAA Division I state championship. The Chargers defeated Rabun Gap by a score of 34-27 in the Nov. 17 title game. Providence Day finished 2023 with a 12-1 overall record.
