N.C. Museum of Art plans in-person storytimes as part of Juneteenth commemoration
The N.C. Museum of Art will host two in-person storytimes this weekend as part of its commemoration of Junteenth.
The N.C. Museum of Art will host two in-person storytimes this weekend as part of its commemoration of Junteenth.
Liberation Station, a local pop-up bookstore that focuses on children's books that feature diverse characters, will host the storytimes at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., June 19. These are free. No registration is required.
There will be art activities for families as well as music and a story trail, according to the museum. An American Sign Language interpreter will be available at both storytimes.
The museum's Juneteenth celebration also includes music and movie screenings. Juneteenth marks the end of slavery in the United States after the Civil War. More information is on the art museum's website.
